Day Forty

Day 40 of the Forty Days of Prayer of the MoSt Church (February 10, 2011)

Revelation 19:1-8
After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.” And again they shouted: “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever.” The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried, “Amen, Hallelujah!” Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, ou who fear him, both great and small!” Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting, Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

Meditation Thought: The community of God will hold the final victory, and our righteous acts will be the adornment of the bride of Christ — His Church.

Prayer:  Thank You, God, for the promise of victory! And thank You for showing me that any relationship with this world will not only lead me further from You, but will also lead me to the wrong side of Your final judgment. I want to be part of the multitude in heaven that praises You! I want to help dress Your bride, this church, with the finest of clothes, and I want to help prepare everyone in this church for the day when we meet! Strengthen my relationship with You, by fire if necessary, so that I can be in this wedding feast! Strengthen my commitment to this church, Your bride! Strengthen my resolve to turn from relationships that do not honor You! Salvation and power and glory are Yours, and Yours alone!
