Your Next Ninety Days

You probably have awesome plans for your summer. A vacation, maybe? Backyard bbq’s, maybe? Baseball? Soccer? Movies?

I have a suggestion for you.

How about reading the entire Word of God this summer? With your family?

Ambitious, right? Maybe a bit daunting? And certainly a suggestion that would make anyone feel guilty.

But “no guilt in life,” right? Don’t feel guilty! Feel energized!

This summer, our teenagers will embark on an ambitious quest to read the entire Word of God in 90 days. To help them, I’m asking our moms and dads and grandparents to do the same. And to engage in conversations with them about the bible. Can you imagine how your family will be transformed this summer, at the end of these 90 days, with everyone reading and talking and praying together?

You can read your hardcover bible, but if you are technologically savvy, you can also use your smart phones, such as the Droid, the iPhone, or a Blackberry. Simply download the free YouVersion app, sign up for a free account, and begin their 90 Day through-the-Bible-plan on June 1. You can also access and begin a plan online, on your computer.

Our students will be engaged in their readings twice a week, on Sunday nights at Fortress, and on Wednesday nights, in some share and prayer groups at our facilities. But I want all of our families reading, talking, and being changed by the living Word of God.

Your life will completely change. Use this summer as a chance to get to know God again, to listen to His voice, and to be filled with His mighty Spirit, and to watch your family be changed for the better.

  1. This program is wonderful! I read thru the bible in 90 days at the beginning of the year and I loved every minute of it! It is a large task but completely doable! You will see the bible unfold like you’ve never seen it before especially if you have never read thru the entire bible- cover to cover. Be prayerful as you read! God will show you amazing things and your summer will be richly blessed!
