Sacrifices, cleansing, water from a rock, constructing a bronze snake, a talking donkey, daily offerings, Sabbath offerings, monthly offerings, Passover, Feast of Weeks, Feast of Trumpets, Feast of Tabernacles, Day of Atonement, Vows, Vengeance and Dividing spoils.
These are the unique ways of the LORD. His holiness calls for something unique, unusual, different and special.
I can’t help but to ask, “Why, what for, what are you doing, what do you want to accomplish in us?” (All asked reverently not hostile or angry, but in awe and amazement).
I am reminded of Paul’s doxology, “Oh the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of GOD! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has been His counselor? (Rom. 11:33-36).
The Challenge today is for us to be humbled by the ways of the LORD. While we may understand some of the ways of the LORD or the commands made in the Torah to approach the LORD; certainly purity and holiness stand in the forefront.
It causes me to be so thankful for what Jesus did on the cross. He was a perfect, Holy and righteous offering. Be blessed today as you are called not to fulfill a sacrificial law system, but a sacrificial life to love the LORD Your GOD…and love your fellow man!
