Thankful Prayer

Philippians 1:3-6

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Paul’s letter begins by thanking God for the Philippian Christians and the relationship he had with them. Paul is far away from Philippi but he has not forgotten his Christian family there and still gives them thanks and encouragement .

There are times when we forget to thank God for the ones who are a part of our lives.  Thinking of the people I have known over the years I am sure there are many I have never thanked God for.  When you think of your brothers and sisters in Christ do you give thanks to God for them?  We are so blessed to have our family, friends, neighbors and church family.  Be thankful for all the people in your life that God has given you. Just as Paul was in partnership  with the Christians in Philippi  we can also share in the partnership.  We can do this by loving, praying and being thankful for each other and working together to spread the gospel.

Paul thanked God every time he remembered the Christians in Philippi.  Find someone to thank today.
