Ephesians 4:32

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

We sing that old song “It’s me, it’s me O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”  Do we really realize how true that is?  We often get upset at others because they didn’t treat us the way we wanted to be treated.  Our Golden Rule is “Treat me the way I think I should be treated.”  We turn Jesus’ golden rule around and make it about us rather than others.

When we can realize the degree of love and compassion that God had in loving us and forgiving us, it becomes a whole lot easier to cut a little slack for a brother who didn’t exactly hit the mark in dealing with us.  As we forgive and love one another, we come closer to Christ, and bring a little bit of heaven to our everyday life on this earth.
