Day 8. Keep Me Holy.

Scripture: Leviticus 20:7-8
“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord you’re God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy.”

What’s your favorite book in the Bible? I doubt if you said Leviticus. In fact, it may be your least favorite. But as you read these rules, if you listen to the reasoning behind them, you begin to see a pattern. They are about cleanliness. They are about purity. They are about HOLINESS! Reread the scripture above. God wants us to be holy. Hebrews 10:14 tells us that without holiness, no one sees the Lord. As you are going through this time of prayer and fasting, examine your life and see what is keeping you from being holy. Many of the commands in Leviticus are applicable to us today. Don’t slander, don’t pervert justice, don’t seek revenge, don’t bear a grudge, love your neighbor. It’s a struggle to live a holy life. Don’t give up! Hebrews 10:10 tells us that we have been made holy by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus!

Prayer: God, I want to be like you. There are so many distractions in the world today. I’m worried about finances. I’m worried about my family. I’m worried about getting sick. But I know you’re in control. Please heal our world. Not only of this virus, but our spiritual sickness also. Make me more Holy. I love you. In the name of Jesus who makes us holy, Amen
