Scripture: “Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea: hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught”. Psalm 55:1-2
I love reading and praying the psalms. There are many times that I feel just like David. Wondering where God is. Wondering why he lets the wicked prosper. Wondering why he allows bad things to happen.
In Verse 6 of chapter 55, David says “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest…Have you ever felt that way? Just wanted to run away and get away from it all? I know that I have. David felt that way many times. But if you continue through this chapter, in verse 16 he says “but I call to God and the Lord saves me”. In verse 22 he says to cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you. And then he finishes with “but as for me, I trust in you”.
Just remember that whatever you’re going through, God is with you!
Prayer: Father, thank you for being my Father. Thank you for being there in times of trouble. Thank you for sustaining me. Thank you for Jesus. Help me to always trust in you, no matter the circumstances. In the blessed name of Jesus I pray, Amen
Does God ever leave us? The Holy Spirit resides in us so He IS always with us. Why do we pray be with us when he already IS. I AM Is with us! Thank you God for this reassurance! You already are with us!
God is ALWAYS with us. The problems lies with us. We have doubts that he is always with us, we wonder off and then ask a question “Where are You, God?”
