Day Two of the Forty Days of Prayer (January 3, 2011)
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (NIV)
“Impress them [commandments] on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.”
Meditation Thought: I am to teach my children and others to love God first.
Prayer: O God, our Father, we thank You that we are able to call you “Father” and that we are your “children.” Your Word declares and teaches me to love You first. I pray that my desire will be to teach my children and others the importance of keeping You first. Father, give me the strength to live in such a way that others will know of my love and devotion to put You first in my life. In Your Son’s most holy name I pray, Amen.
