Day Three of the Forty Days of Prayer (January 4, 2011)
Daniel 3:17, 18 (NIV)
“If we are thrown down into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Meditation Thought: Sometimes it is tough keeping God the center of my life.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for being a God who can rescue even in the most difficult circumstances of life. I pray that I will be like the three friends of Daniel who were faithful when they were tested. They knew You to be a God of deliverance and I pray I will experience that same kind of deliverance in my own life. I pray for strong faith no matter what circumstances I face, and no matter where You may send me. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego experienced a living God, and in the moment of life or death, You remained the center of their lives. I pray for a heart that desires to be God-centered, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
