Day Four of the Forty Days of Prayer (January 5, 2011)
Deuteronomy 8:2 (NIV)
“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.”Proverbs 17:3 (NIV)
“The crucible for silver and the furnace for God, but the Lord tests the hearts.”
Meditation Thought: God will test us in order to reveal our hearts.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, thank You for being patient with me. There have been times when I have not passed the “tests of faith” You have sent my way. My actions and words reveal what is in my heart. I pray to be more God-centered in all that I do and say. Whether I am at work or at home, whether a grandparent, parent or child, whether married, divorced or single, whether a widow or a widower, whether healthy or sick, I pray that you will be the center of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
