Day Eight of the Forty Days of Prayer (January 9, 2011)

1 Peter 1:14, 15
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.  But just as he who called you is holy, “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Meditation Thought:  What we love we grow to resemble.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, everything about You has the backdrop of holiness behind it, even Your name is to be hallowed.  My human desires often draw me away from You and prevent me from keeping You as the center of my life.  I thank You for Your forgiveness, mercy and Your grace.  I pray that as Your will is kept and done in heaven, Your will is also done and kept on earth.  Your will for my life is to seek and save the lost, my prayer is to do Your will in my life.  I pray I will seek to be holy and reflect Your glory in my life.  I pray that I will be God-centered in all that I do and all that I say, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
