Day Ten of the Forty Days of Prayer at The MoSt Church (January 11, 2011)
Philippians 4:6, 7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of god, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
Meditation Thought: Imagine, if you will, a construction site. One worker is carrying a bag of concrete on each shoulder, stumbling along with his back bowed with the weight of his load. Beside him is his friend, pushing an empty wheelbarrow and begging his friend to put his load into the wheelbarrow. Yet his friend refuses. “That’s dumb,” you say. But it is no dumber than it is for us to go through life weighed down by our troubles, while God invites us to cast our cares on Him.
Prayer: God, please help us to renounce our pride and self-centeredness and come to You with our burdens and cares. Let us know the peace that comes from knowing first-hand that nothing we face is too big an obstacle when You are with us. In the name of the One who said, “Come unto me, all ye who are weary and burdened”, Amen.
