Day Fifteen of the Forty Days of Prayer of the MoSt Church (January 16, 2011)

Matthew 7:24, 26
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. … But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Meditation Thought:  Have you ever asked your children, after they failed to do what you asked, “Did you hear me?”  The obvious implication is that hearing without acting is worse than not hearing.  Hearing without acting is ignoring.  Are we ever guilty of ignoring God?

Prayer:  Father, help me to never be so wrapped up in what I am doing that I ignore You and Your call on my life.  May I never be the foolish man who hears Your words and then fails to put them into practice.  Give me that tender, childlike heart that wants to be pleasing to You more than anything else in my life.  In the name of the One Who is our Solid Rock, Amen.
