Day Twenty of the Forty Days of Prayer of the MoSt Church (January 21, 2011)
Ephesians 1:18-22 (NIV)
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you … and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working in his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead, and seated him at his right han in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every title that can be given, not only in this present age, but also in the one to come.
Meditation Thought: I can experience and know the same power that was used to resurrect Jesus from the tomb.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. As Paul prayed for the Ephesians to know the power of God, I pray that I will come to see, experience, and know Your great power in my life. I confess that sometimes I struggle in my faith when my prayers go unanswered. I pray that I will not lose heart, but will instead be diligent and committed to seeing Your power in my life. Your son has authority, dominion, and power over everything. I pray that I will trust in You to defeat the enemies that try to have dominion in my life. I pray this prayer through the One who, by Your great power, defeated the enemy and overcame death, the name of Jesus, Amen.
