Day Twenty-Five

Day 25 of the Forty Days of Prayer of the MoSt Church (January 26, 2011)

Part Four:  Centered in the Character of God

In order for us to live a more God-centered life, we must know about God’s character.  According to the dictionary, character is defined as:  the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing.

To list all the features and traits of God would be impossible, but here are just a few:

Approachable.  Awesome.  Comforter.  Compassionate.  Counselor.  Creator.  Exalted.  Excellent.  Faithful.  Forgiving.  Fortress.  Friend.  Gentle.  Glorious.  Good.  Gracious.  Great.  Helper.  Holy.  Jealous.  Judge.  King.  Knowable.  Light.  Long-suffering.  Love.  Majestic.  Merciful.  Mighty.  Near.  Omnipotent.  Omnipresent.  Omniscient.  Perfect.  Powerful.  Redeemer.  Reverend.  Righteous.  Rock.  Savior.  Sovereign.  Spirit.  Supplier.  Teacher.  Trustworthy.  Unchanging.  Wise.  Worthy!

Over the next few days we will look at eight aspects of God’s character.

__________

God is the Creator

Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Meditation Thought:  In order to live a God-centered life, I must first know who God is.  He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everlasting, the Creator!  Day one — LIGHT.  Bam!  Day two — SKY. Incredible!  Day three — LAND AND SEAS.  There they were!  Day four — SUN AND MOON.  Awesome! Day five — ANIMALS.  Wow!  Day six – me.  Thank You God!

Prayer:  Dear God, the Creator of the universe:  I don’t know why You made me, but You did.  I don’t know why You love me, but You do.  I don’t know why You blessed me, but You have.  I know I don’t deserve what You have given me, but I truly thank You.  Help me to realize that it’s not about me.  It’s all about You.  Amen
