Word, Thought, and Prayer for Day Three

Word:

Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did. (2 Kings 17:41)

Meditation Thought: We have a responsibility to our children and grandchildren to bring them up worshiping the Lord, and Him alone.

Prayer: My God and my Father in heaven, You are full of love and grace and there is no god like You. There have been times in my life when I have given my time, money, and even allegiance to others gods who are so much less than You. I ask that You forgive me for those times. I pray for strength – to be a better example to my children and grandchildren, and to the children and grandchildren in other families. I want to be a better example and to exhibit a stronger commitment in my attendance in Bible classes and in the worship assembly. I pray that I will want to be in worship, and not be someone who is just going through the motions. I need a heart for worship. May I come to celebrate and express thankfulness to You each week for what You have done in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
