Word:
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13, 14)
Meditation Thought: The church is the “ecclesia” — the “called out.” This passage teaches us that our calling should be to “serve one another humbly in love.” Thus, as we serve others, we are fulfilling our calling.
Prayer: God, we want to use the freedom that You called us to in the way You desire. We don’t want to be carnal, fleshly minded people. Help us to humble ourselves and realize that service to others is the cure for the carnal. In the name of the One who set us free, Amen.
