Word, Thought, and Prayer for Day Fourteen

Word:

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because You know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. (Ephesians 6:7, 8)

Meditation Thought: Sometimes those we need to serve are not as pleasant as we would like, either in appearance or attitude. If we could see them, not as who they are, but as who Jesus is, we might react much differently.

Prayer: O Heavenly Father, give us eyes that see You in the face of those around us – those we have the opportunity to serve, and not see the sometimes wretched-looking, attitude-spouting people we tend to see. May we realize that we looked like that to You when You sent Jesus to serve and die for us. We have no basis for feeling superior to those we serve. Give us hearts that understand who we are, and much more than that, who You are.
