Word:

O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries. Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you. You will see your teacher with your own eyes. Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:19-21, NLT)

Meditation Thought: Prayer implies that we also listen to, and for, God.

Prayer: For far too long, God, I’ve not listened for You. My prayers are one-sided, God – nothing more than words spoken from me to You. I’ve failed to listen to You. And I’ve failed to listen for You. Forgive those who have taught me that You do not speak to us now, and forgive those who have taught me that You do not make Yourself visible. Your Word proclaims that I will hear You, that I will see You, and I will hear Your direction. So God, today, I need You to teach me to hear You. As I pray today, and even as I pray this prayer, I invite Your Spirit, and Your voice, to talk to me. Train my ears, and my mind, to hear Your guidance and Your direction. Train my eyes to see You. Thank You for being ever-present! I am excited to be taught by Your Word today!
