Word, Thought, and Prayer for Day Twenty-One

Word:

As soon as they were freed, Peter and John returned to the other believers and told them what the leading priests and elders had said. When they heard the report, all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God … (Acts 4:23, 24, NLT)

Meditation Thought: Prayer provides unity.

Prayer: I am not isolated, God. I am not alone. Even in the depths of my darkest time, I am never alone. The world is filled with people who are distressed and hurting, and full of concern and anxiousness. There is so much I do not understand, and so much I can’t comprehend. I know this. Yet You, God, provide a way for me to talk to You in the presence of other people. You allow my isolation to disappear in the avenue of prayer. And as I pray even these prayers, through these forty days, with hundreds of other people, give me a vision of unity, God. Give me a place in Your community. Show me that I am not alone, and that I am but one person in a community of believers who desperately relies on You.
