Humility (part 2)

Success, blessings, education, praise & admiration of others, large paychecks and compliments all have a way of feeding the human, fleshly side of our nature. It’s a hard thing to humble yourself before the LORD and to openly confess your need for GOD when you have all these things going for you. I remember a time being at the top of my game yet inwardly running on empty. Surprisingly, in my position, I found myself leaving GOD out of my life & my decisions more and more. There is nothing like losing it all and having to start all over. But there is nothing like learning how to walk with GOD all over again. James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before GOD and He will lift you up.” (He will!) GOD resists the proud but gives grace to the humble,” (James 4:6: I Pet.5:5). “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.” (Ps 25:9) “For the LORD takes delight in His people and crowns the humble with salvation.” (Ps. 149:4) “Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor to life.” (Pro. 22:4) It’s better to live in humbleness before the LORD than to be humiliated by His discipline. “The LORD mocks the mockers but gives grace to the humble.” (Pro. 3:34) The Challenge today is to remember where GOD has brought you from, and in humbleness thank Him for His grace. May we all be blessed today as we live in deep need for GOD’s favor in our lives.
