James tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from God (1:17). Paul teaches that the Spirit distributes gifts as He determines (1Cor. 12:11). In the building of the tabernacle with all of its contents; men were “filled with the Spirit of GOD, with skill, ability, and knowledge in all kinds of crafts to make artistic designs for work… and also gave skill to all the craftsmen to make everything…” (Ex. 31:3-6).

Sometimes we forget  that any skill, ability or talent we may have is NOT because of hard work and development through experience. While I won’t argue the point that skills & talents are grown through opportunity, education and experience, we must humble ourselves long enough to acknowledge that we have the gifts, talents, skills and abilities because GOD has given them to us. We need to be careful how we throw around the term “natural ability”, as if we could have something separate and apart from GOD.

The Challenge today is to remember all we have is because of the goodness of GOD. Be blessed today as you honor and glorify GOD with gifts and abilities He has given to you.
