Today will be my last devotional writing for a few weeks. I am scheduled for early morning meetings this week and will be in Tuscaloosa Thursday and Friday to take my dad for his second cataract surgery. Next Monday I leave for a mission trip to Nicaragua and return March 27.
As a reminder, “The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on an alter, it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life,” (Lev.17:11).
Because of sin, Heaven’s doors were shut, the path into the Presence of GOD was closed. But GOD provided a way for the nation of Israel to enter His Presence. The High Priest, who entered within the veil, into the Holy of Holies, allowed the people to symbolically enter with him.
But now, according to Hebrews 10:19, we have entrance into the Most Holy place by means of the blood of Christ. “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by (in) the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body…let us draw near to GOD,” (Heb.10:19-22).
Heaven’s door is open. Entering into the Presence of GOD is not gained by some causal, flippant exercise of worship and practice of prayer, but a precious treasure that is only permitted through the blood of Jesus.
Because of the sacrificed life-blood of Jesus, we may enter with confidence, with sincere hearts, in full assurance our hearts have been cleansed from a guilty conscience. We enter the Presence of GOD in purity, something humanity lost in the Garden.
Be blessed today, and now forever more, with access into the Most Holy Place. Thank you Father, for the life-blood of Jesus!
